This is a practical module! In this module you will work through the process of identifying the skills, interests and experiences that you could bring to a volunteering role and how this will help in choosing the right volunteer opportunity, and when applying for a role.

Using Volunteering as an Employment or Study Pathway (IND 1.3)

This module introduces the importance of using your volunteering experiences in preparing for future employment or further study! Practical experience gained through volunteering will help develop ‘soft’ skills like teamwork, communication and networking and also provide specific technical ‘on the job’ development which can be essential for future study and work success.

Volunteer Assessors will be working with individuals who are looking for support in finding volunteer opportunities.
We will work with prospective volunteers to find place-based volunteer opportunities that match their interests, skills, and motivations for volunteering.
Support is provided by volunteer assessors such as contacting organisations on behalf of the volunteers if requested and assess if the role is suitable for them.

Whether you're part of a board, a committee of management, or a subcommittee, you’ll explore how governance works in practice and how risks: financial, legal, reputational, operational, and people related must be understood, prioritised, and addressed at the governance level.
