Welcome to the Understanding Diversity and Inclusion Module. This module introduces key concepts of diversity in the workplace. Participants will be encouraged to consider their own experience and intersections of diversity, as well as considering how they can contribute towards an inclusive workplace.

In this module participants will be introduced to different types of grants available and how to identify the correct grant for their project. The module prepares participants for creating a grant application.
Engaging Young People in Volunteering: A Practical Guide for Organisations explores why engaging young volunteers is not just a good idea but a strategic advantage for organisations. Through this module, you’ll gain practical insights into how to attract, support, and retain youth volunteers while aligning your programs with their needs and motivations. You’ll also explore broader social and cultural factors affecting youth participation.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or improving an existing volunteer program, this guide will equip you to create youth-friendly, inclusive, and impactful volunteer opportunities.
This module introduces volunteering to young people. Learn about the benefits of volunteering, different types of volunteering, and why engaging in volunteering is a valuable choice for young people. This module leads into modules 1.2 Preparing yourself to volunteer and 1.3 Volunteering as a pathway to study and employment.
This is a practical module! In this module you will work through the process of identifying the skills, interests and experiences that you could bring to a volunteering role and how this will help in choosing the right volunteer opportunity, and when applying for a role.
This module introduces the importance of using your volunteering experiences in preparing for future employment or further study! Practical experience gained through volunteering will help develop ‘soft’ skills like teamwork, communication and networking and also provide specific technical ‘on the job’ development which can be essential for future study and work success.
Volunteer Assessors will be working with individuals who are looking for support in finding volunteer opportunities.
We will work with prospective volunteers to find place-based volunteer opportunities that match their interests, skills, and motivations for volunteering.
Support is provided by volunteer assessors such as contacting organisations on behalf of the volunteers if requested and assess if the role is suitable for them.

This module provides a practical, real-world guide to understanding and governing risk for board and committee members of community organisations. Whether you're part of a board, a committee of management, or a subcommittee, you’ll explore how governance works in practice and how risks: financial, legal, reputational, operational, and people related must be understood, prioritised, and addressed at the governance level.
This module details key aspects of the role, responsibilities and legalities of a Board or Committee Member of a Not for Profit (NFP) organisation.
